Scouts is for young people aged between ten and a half and fifteen years. At this point in their lives Scouts show great enthusiasm for activities that give them a sense of achievement and follow their special interests with intensity.

Want to go hiking and camping?

Want to learn to tie the right knots?

Want to learn new skills like map reading and GPS?

Want to have fun with other people your own age?

Then come and try Scouting. Earn badges in Scoutcraft, campcraft, citizenship and the environment. Participate in camps with your own Troop and others from around the State, around the Country and occasionally around the World.

Scouts participate in many activities with other Troops such as

  • Rotto invasion - Statewide gathering of Scouts for an overnight stay on Rottnest
  • Camp West - Bi-annual statewide camp to prepare Scouts for Jamboree
  • Night Hawk - Navigation hike performed at night with activities at each checkpoint (Well done Maddington Scoutsl for achieving 1st place in River Ranges District and 3rd place overall against 89 teams in 2012)
  • Jamboree - 10 day long National camp held every three years in the Eastern States with lots of on-site and off-site activities
  • Soapbox Derby
